Theory Course timelines

Accelerated Theory Course in Theory 5, 6, 7 or 8

15 to 17-week course

(1-hr. per class)

Whether you are preparing for an online or in-person exam, I can help you prepare for your Rudiments exam starting any time during the year.  Group classes start in September, January or June; private lessons have a flexible start date.  All Theory classes are taught in an Accelerated format.

Accelerated Theory Course in History 9, 10 or ARCT

12 to 18-week course

(1.5 to 2-hrs per class)

History courses are in an accelerated format with students ready to write the RCM History exams in as little as 3 months.  Typical class terms are from:  September to December, January to May, and June to August.

Harmony 9, 10, ARCT Course

20 to 30-week course

(1 to 1.5-hrs per class)

Harmony is the most important course in building the foundation for your success as an intermediate/advanced music student.  While other courses may be completed in a much shorter time frame, it takes more time and lots of practice to master your competency in Harmony.  Classes start in January, June or September.

ARCT Analysis Course

15 to 30-week course

(1 to 2-hrs per class)

ARCT Analysis requires a solid foundation in Theory 8 and Harmony 10 or above.  Extensive work on full fugal scores, lieder, modern works and full movements from the multi-movement cycle will be completed.  Classes start in January, June or September.
